Aspiration May Help Prevent Vaccine Side Effects

This is a brief post we wanted to share with you to help reduce the risk of potential side effects of vaccination for Covid-19. There is an emerging picture where many healthcare practitioners are not aspirating the needle prior to injecting the vaccine.

Aspiration is a simple process that helps to ensure the vaccine enters the right tissue (muscle cell in the deltoid) rather than the bloodstream. The Covid-19 vaccine is meant to be an intramuscular vaccination.

If the vaccine were to directly enter the bloodstream, there is a higher potential risk of cardiovascular and cerebral side-effects. For example, an in vivo study you can access here concluded that “inadvertent intravenous injection of COVID-19 mRNA vaccines may induce myopericarditis.”
