Why we exist

Help more people feel understood, supported and able to move forward.

People do better when their health, performance and lives are understood together. Our work helps coaches see more of that picture, make complex science useful and guide one relevant next step at a time.

That is what we want 360 to make possible.

Clarity A better understanding of what matters now.
Confidence A useful next step that fits the person and their life.
Agency More capacity to learn, adapt and take part in what happens next.
Where it began

I started on the gym floor.

I was earning £4.32 an hour, cleaning equipment and trying to learn everything I could about why one person would thrive on a plan while another would struggle.

My first career was in financial recruitment. After 11 September 2001, I stopped and thought seriously about the work I wanted to spend my life doing. I left, retrained as a personal trainer and sports therapist, and began again.

The gym floor taught me to pay attention. Two people could arrive with the same goal and respond very differently. The programme mattered, of course, but so did their sleep, health, confidence, work, relationships, history and what life was asking of them at that moment.

That curiosity took me deeper into nutrition, functional medicine, behavioural health, movement, neuroscience and the gut–brain axis. I led a team of 18 trainers, taught other practitioners and kept coaching throughout.

The environment eventually expanded into elite golf and football. The questions became more demanding. The need to understand the person never went away.

  1. The gym floor Learn the craft through people. Personal training, sports therapy and thousands of hours of direct coaching.
  2. Lead and teach Help other practitioners develop. Team leadership, national recognition and professional education.
  3. Go deeper Join health, behaviour and performance. Postgraduate study and ongoing training across several connected fields.
  4. Elite sport Work inside demanding multidisciplinary teams. Two decades across elite golf and football, alongside brilliant specialists.
  5. Make it transferable Turn repeated practice into 360 OS™. A decade developing the methodology, technology, education and infrastructure.
What practice taught us

People live one connected life. Their support is rarely organised that way.

A coach may be working on one goal, but the person brings their whole life into the conversation. Sleep, work, family, health, training, relationships, confidence and purpose all shape how they respond.

Elite sport brought this into very sharp focus. There could be brilliant specialists around the same person, each with deep expertise. Someone still had to keep the wider context visible and help the right information arrive at the right time.

Good coaches do this naturally because they care. As their practice grows, that context becomes harder to hold across conversations, notes, messages, wearable data and memory.

The person needs continuity. The coach needs a clearer way to provide it.

From practice to ecosystem

I did not want this way of working to depend on access to me.

People who could never work with me still deserved thoughtful, connected support. Coaches with their own expertise and trusted relationships deserved access to the tools we had spent years developing.

That is why I built 360 OS™.

  1. 01 Methodology

A whole-person way to create orientation before adding more measurement or advice.

  2. 02 360 App

Client-controlled reflection, context and patterns that can support a better conversation.

  3. 03 Member Platform

Deep evidence-informed education used selectively, when it becomes relevant.

  4. 04 Practitioner learning

A professional pathway for understanding and operating the ecosystem responsibly.

  5. 05 Infrastructure

Practical support for continuity, small groups and a healthier coaching practice.

360 Health & Performance builds and supports 360 OS™. The practitioner remains the human centre: listening, interpreting, asking better questions and deciding what will genuinely help.
7,500+ research references gathered over years of practice and study
Science made useful

Depth matters because people are complex.

I built that research library because I wanted to understand what the evidence actually says, where it applies and where uncertainty remains. The point has always been practical: make complex science easier for a coach or client to use.

Our approach brings together the best relevant research, the practitioner’s existing expertise and professional scope, the person’s goals and preferences, and what their lived experience teaches us over time.

Evidence should help us ask better questions and make better decisions. It should never be used to pretend that we know more about a person than we do.

Research What has been studied, in whom and under what conditions.
Practitioner judgement Existing expertise, context, responsibility and professional scope.
The person Their goals, values, preferences, response and real life.
What we believe

What we believe

“I’m on this planet to lift people up — both coaches and the people they look after.”
Justin Buckthorp · Founder, 360 Health & Performance
  1. 01 People are capable.

Good support should help somebody recover clarity, confidence and belief in what they can do next.

  2. 02 Context changes the question.

A score, symptom or performance goal is part of the picture. Understanding the person around it helps a coach decide what deserves attention.

  3. 03 Science should become useful.

Depth and nuance matter. They become valuable when they help someone understand, choose and act.

  4. 04 The coach stays human.

Technology can support continuity and organise information. Care, timing, listening and judgement still belong to the practitioner.

  5. 05 One useful step can be enough.

People rarely need everything at once. Start with what is relevant, try it in real life and learn together.

  6. 06 Care and growth can support each other.

Better continuity for clients and a healthier, more sustainable practice for the coach should strengthen each other.

Built in the field

Elite sport is part of the provenance. The work was always about people.

360 OS™ was shaped in demanding environments, but it was built to sit beneath many forms of thoughtful coaching.

The setting changes. The need for context, continuity, judgement and care does not.

  • Performance Elite golf and football
  • Education Practitioner development and team leadership
